Warm, Wintery Weekend

22 01 2010

The weather is starting to look a little different this afternoon than earlier in the day.

Our Forecast:

We are expecting 1/4″ of ice starting around midnight tonight through morning tomorrow and raining through the day Saturday. We will have a high of 38 degrees tomorrow, so hopefully the ice will melt. Sunday is looking like very little snow at the point with accumulations less than an inch.

Our Plan*: Ice is difficult to predict the best course of action. The rain washes away any liquid anti-icing agents along with granular salt. We will be going out tomorrow morning around 4 to spread salt in the lots and walks of our Winter Safety sites and will return late morning to salt again until the threat of ice has diminished. Then again Saturday night/Sunday morning to combat the ice again.

Our Future:

Cold weather blasts its way back in after this storm goes through with a high of 16 on Tuesday and lows around 0. It shouldn’t stay around too long though

Have a great weekend and be safe!

Brad
